Busca-se a autenticidade, a nudez de todas as realidades. O minimalismo arquitectónico partilha esta busca pela simplicidade, logo é lhe inerente e imprescindível o conceito de redução.Verifica-se uma redução ao mínimo para uma expressividade máxima, uma abertura dos espaços despidos à luz, que reflecte a tranquilidade e harmonia, bens essenciais face ao caos a que estamos expostos na actualidade. A arquitectura que faz seus, princípios como a simplicidade das formas geométricas, a repetição, a ordem, a economia de linguagem e meios, a síntese, o purismo estrutural e funcional, a monocromia, a desmaterialização e o uso literal dos materiais consegue indubitavelmente, e como nenhuma outra, aproximar-se da tão almejada Simplicidade
