Terror no feminino : a posição da mulher no terrorismo

Abstract

O objetivo do presente trabalho é o de adquirir conhecimento sobre o papel da mulher no terrorismo islâmico, desvendando o seu posicionamento com a intenção de compreender a tipologia da sua participação: vítima e/ou ativo com competências distintivas na organização. Coloca-se a questão de saber quais são os principais contributos da mulher no terrorismo, no sentido de compreender que funções desempenham dentro de organizações terroristas islamistas como o Daesh, Al-Qaeda e Boko Haram, quais as motivações, e ainda analisar as situações em que estas são vítimas das mesmas organizações e de que forma as organizações beneficiam com o recrutamento de mulheres. Esta pergunta é relevante para melhor compreender as mudanças dentro das organizações terroristas, assim como as questões de género, uma vez que é fundamental haver uma preparação para as agressões femininas e não apenas para as masculinas, cobrindo e analisando todo o espetro da violência sem os viés do género. Assente numa metodologia qualitativa, tendo por base informação recolhida sobretudo em fontes primárias com recurso a entrevistas semiestruturadas a especialistas da área, foi possível validar que a participação feminina está a ganhar um papel de maior relevo. Objetivamente, foi possível apurar que são essenciais para a sobrevivência das organizações terroristas, demonstrando também que são poucos aqueles que ainda têm reservas relativamente à participação da mulher no terrorismo.

The aim of this work is to acquire knowledge about the role of women in Islamic terrorism, unveiling their position with the intention of understanding the typology of their participation: victim to and/or active with distinctive competencies in the organization. The question arises as to what the main contributions of women in terrorism are, to understand what roles, they perform within Islamist terrorist organizations such as Daesh, Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, what are the motivations, and to analyze the situations in which they are victims of the same organizations and how organizations benefit from the recruitment of women. This question is relevant to better understand changes within terrorist organizations, as well as gender issues, as it is essential to prepare for female aggression and not just for male aggression, covering and analyzing the entire spectrum of violence without gender bias. Based on a qualitative methodology, based on information collected mainly from primary sources using semi-structured interviews with specialists in the area, it was possible to validate that female participation is gaining a major role. Objectively, it was possible to establish that they are essential for the survival of terrorist organizations, also demonstrating that there are few who still have reservations about women's participation in terrorism.
