Lombada dos Esmeraldos : vertígios da memória

Abstract

Este trabalho de investigação, tem como objeto de estudo o Solar dos Esmeraldos, vindo a focar-nos na sua inserção a nível histórico e social, estudando e comparando a sua evolução perante, os restantes solares portugueses, enquadrando-o e assinalando a necessidade e importância da recuperação, e continua manutenção do edifício, sem perder a essência característica do mesmo. Para este ponto, foram estudadas algumas teorias que tem vindo a acompanhar a evolução da recuperação até aos nossos dias, chegando a conclusões que fizeram parte da forma de intervenção no Solar. Obtendo um conjunto de ideias que nos ajudaram a ver de maneira distinta este imponente edifício, permitindo-lhe vir a ter mais presença a nível social, despertando interesse da população, não unicamente, local.

The subject of this research project is the “Solar dos Esmeraldos” (Esmeraldos’ Manor), and it focuses on its historical and social insertion, studying and comparing its evolution with other Portuguese manors. It frames and highlights the importance of its recovery and continuous building maintenance without compromising its essential characteristics. With this purpose, some theories, that follow the evolution of recovery actions to present days, were studied, allowing conclusions to be reached, that were part of the intervention that was made in the manor. The set of ideas obtained help us see this imposing building in a different way, allowing it to have a greater social presence and arousing the interest of, not only, the local population.
