A valorização do Património Industrial : a indústria criativa como oportunidade de revitalização urbana : a Sociedade Mercantil e Industrial de Ovar

Abstract

Com o avançar dos tempos, a procura e a necessidade de reabilitar espaços degradados e em desuso têm vindo a ser vistos de forma a valoriza a criatividade e explora a importância desta na intervenção da cidade. A reabilitação de edifícios industriais é estudada de modo a (re)integrar estes espaços, com interesse arquitetónico e histórico na cidade, concedendo-lhes um novo uso. A preservação da herança histórica e arquitetónica de espaços que até então estavam degradados permitem novas funcionalidades, potenciando assim novos usos urbanos. A relação do património com a arquitetura, procura assimilar todas as manifestações criadas no campo industrial, apresentando a técnica de reconversão e reabilitação, com a abordagem explicativa dos edifícios industriais adaptados às novas funções. Respondendo juntamente à preservação do património e às necessidades locais, comprova-se que as práticas executadas viabilizaram a reintegração destes edifícios industriais na vida contemporânea. A inovação e a criatividade assumem um plano interativo que acrescenta valor à cidade. Nestas circunstâncias, a inovação e as indústrias criativas apresentam relações com os centros citadinos, assumindo um dever dominante no desenvolvimento das estratégias de intervenção para estes lugares. Desta maneira, e tendo como finalidade adaptá-lo a um novo uso, e uma nova realidade e a um valor histórico, o objetivo principal desta investigação recai sobre a necessidade de compreender quais as características essenciais para (re)fazer um projeto numa estrutura de índole industrial.

With the passing of time, the demand and the need to rehabilitate degraded and disused spaces have been seen in a way that values creativity and explores its importance in the intervention of the city. The rehabilitation of industrial buildings is studied in order to (re) integrate these spaces, with architectural and historical interest in the city, granting them a new use. The preservation of the historical and architectural inheritance of spaces that until then were degraded allow new functionalities, thus potentiating new urban uses. The relation of heritage to architecture try to assimilate all the manifestations created in the industrial field, presenting the technique of reconversion and rehabilitation, with the explanatory approach of industrial buildings adapted to the new functions. Answering together to the preservation of heritage and local needs, it is proven that the practices implemented enabled the reintegration of these industrial buildings in contemporary life - innovation and creativity take on an interactive plan that adds value to the city. In these circumstances, the innovation and the creative industries will establish relations with the city centers, assuming a dominant duty in the development of the intervention strategies for these places. In this way, and with the purpose of adapting it to a new use, a new reality and a historical value, the main objective of this research lies in the need to understand the essential characteristics to reash a project in a structure of Industrial nature.
