Reabilitação do património arquitectónico : Mercado do Bolhão

Abstract

A presente dissertação, tem como objectivo a análise do conceito de reabilitação do património arquitectónico, estudar e desenvolver a proposta de reabilitação do Mercado do Bolhão, no Porto. Os principais temas abordados são a reabilitação do património arquitectónico e a sua importância, tanto para o local, como para o utente do mesmo, seja este visitante ou proprietário. Partiu-se da análise das diferentes teorias de restauro, com vista a identificar qual delas serias a mais adequada para uma reabilitação que tem como principio base o respeito pela identidade do objecto de estudo. Neste caso concreto não se pretende apenas respeitar a identidade mas também a função deste, contudo é necessário satisfazer necessidades construtivas que se foram introduzindo na arquitectura, desde que o edifício em estudo foi construído, até aos dias de hoje e introduzir novos elementos que dinamizem o local e o tornem capaz de assumir outras funções sem por em causa a sua principal função, o comércio. Após a análise do local, de vários casos de referência, de reabilitação em edifícios com a mesma função e configuração semelhante, procedeu-se ao levantamento dimensional do edifício que nos permitiu ter a noção dos principais problemas funcionais do edifício. É no processo de reabilitação que são postas em prática diversas soluções que visam resolver os problemas já referidos.

Abstract: This thesis aims to analyze the concept of rehabilitation of the architectural heritage, study and develop the proposed rehabilitation of the Bolhão Market in Porto. The main topics are the rehabilitation of the architectural heritage and its importance, both for the local and for the user, whether visitor or owner. Started from the analysis of the different theories of restoration, in order to identify which one you would be the most appropriate for a rehabilitation whose principle based on respect for the identity of the object of study. In this case it is not intended only respect the identity but also the function of this, however it is necessary to meet construction needs that were introduced in architecture, since the building was built under study, up to the present day and introduce new elements that invigorate the site and become able to take other functions without compromising its main function, the trade. After analyzing the site of several case studies, rehabilitation of buildings with the same function and similar configuration, we proceeded to the dimensional survey of the building which allowed us to have the notion of the main functional building problems. It is in the rehabilitation process are put in place various solutions aimed at solving the problems mentioned above.
