A importância de desenhar : o desenho como génese metodológica do pensar arquitectura

Abstract

Observa-se nos dias de hoje, com especial incidência nas novas gerações de arquitectos da “era da cultura da imagem” uma forte aposta nas imagens digitais sofisticadas sem que isso signifique um carácter intelectual e cultural mais sólido e consistente.

Considera-se por isso pertinente reflectir sobre a importância de desenhar e lança-se a hipótese do seu entendimento enquanto instrumento privilegiado, carregado de intencionalidade, e por isso, como sendo a própria génese metodológica do pensar arquitectura.

Neste sentido, procura-se a partir da progressiva aproximação à noção de desenho de arquitectura, aos seus valores e às diferentes categorias em que este se exprime, compreender a vinculação do desenho às diferentes fases que constituem uma metodologia de projecto em arquitectura, nomeadamente, desde a percepção e análise, à proposta conceptual e correspondente materialização formal, funcional e construtiva, e à sua descodificação em fase de ilustração.

Torna-se assim fundamental dissecar um conjunto de exemplos que permitam aprender com esses desenhos e ilustrar a presente reflexão. O confronto desta investigação com a produção própria no âmbito das unidades curriculares de Projecto (I, II e III) permite, através da análise reflexiva, suscitar questões e respostas de carácter de síntese da aprendizagem dos instrumentos para o exercício de projectual, e funcionar como balanço crítico do percurso académico tanto pessoal como do ensino actual de Projecto de Arquitectura

It is observed today, with special focus on new generations of architects of the “era of image culture”, a strong focus on sophisticated digital images, without meaning of an intellectual and more solid and consistent cultural. It is considered therefore appropriate to reflect on the importance of design and launches the hypothesis of their understanding as a major instrument, full of intent, and therefore, as the very genesis of methodological thinking architecture. In this sense, looking from the progressive approach to the notion of drawing in architecture, its values and the various categories in which it is expressed. Understanding the linkage of drawing in relation to the different stages that make up a project methodology, namely, from the perception and analysis, conceptual and embodiment corresponding formal, functional and constructive proposal, till its decoding illustration phase. Thus, it becomes essential to dissect a set of examples that allow learning from these drawings and illustrate this reflection. The confrontation of this investigation with its own production under the Project curricular units (I, II and III) allows, through reflective analysis, to raise questions and learning the synthesis of nature responses of the instruments for the project exercise, and function as critical assessment of the academic path both on a personal level and on the level of current teaching terms in the Architectural Project.
