Aporofobia e população migrante : que desafios para o Serviço Social?

Abstract

O estudo assenta em uma abordagem teórica sobre as migrações e na revisão de literatura centrada em conceitos como integração e aporofobia, colocando-os em diálogo com elementos teóricos do Serviço Social e, posteriormente, com os dados empíricos recolhidos. O conceito orientador do estudo é Aporofobia, recentemente criado pela filósofa Adela Cortina, que o define, resumidamente, como aversão ao pobre. Assim, o objetivo geral da investigação é o de explorar a influência da aporofobia nos processos de integração de populações migrantes, bem como as estratégias do Serviço Social para minimizar tal incidência e promover a efetiva integração dessas populações. Para tal, foi realizada uma investigação de carácter qualitativo, tendo sido utilizada a entrevista como técnica central de recolha de dados e, posteriormente, o software MAXQDA Standard 2022 para a codificação e categorização a fim de aplicar o método de análise, a análise de conteúdo. Os resultados do estudo indicam que, mesmo com políticas migratórias reconhecidas, permanecem dificuldades nos processos de integração de imigrantes, influenciadas por dimensões que abrangem o conceito da aporofobia. Estes aspetos são identificados pelos profissionais entrevistados e reforçados pelos imigrantes. Apesar das estratégias dos profissionais participantes, estas não são suficientes, sendo necessário o esforço conjunto de outras esferas da sociedade de acolhimento para que a integração seja uma realidade: do Estado e suas instituições, dos imigrantes e da sociedade em geral.

The study is based on a theoretical approach to migration and a literature review centered on concepts such as integration and aporophobia, placing them in dialogue with theoretical elements of social work and, subsequently, with the collected empirical data. The guiding concept of the study is Aporophobia, recently created by the philosopher Adela Cortina, who defines it, in short, as a version of the poor. Thus, the general objective of the investigation is to explore the influence of aporophobia in the processes of integration of migrant populations as well as social work strategies to minimize such incidence and promote the effectiveness of these populations. To this end, a qualitative investigation was carried out, using an interview as the central technique for data collection and, subsequently, the MAXQDA Standard 2022 software for understanding and categorization in order to apply the analysis method, content analysis. The results of the study indicate that, even with recognized migration policies, difficulties remain in the integration processes of immigrants, influenced by dimensions that encompass the concept of aporophobia. These aspects were identified by the professionals interviewed and reinforced by the immigrants. Despite the strategies of the participating professionals, these are not enough, requiring the joint effort of other spheres of the host society so that integration becomes a reality: the state and its institutions, immigrants, and society in general.
