Inovação social na inclusão de migrantes venezuelanos : uma experiência local

Abstract

Entre 1945 e 1977 existiu uma forte emigração de portugueses para a Venezuela. Contudo, devido à instabilidade económica, política e social que se faz sentir naquele país, estas pessoas e os seus descendentes estão a regressar a Portugal. Entre 2011 e 2021 o concelho de Vagos registou um fluxo elevado de migrantes venezuelanos, luso-venezuelanos e os seus familiares. Este elevado fluxo e as dificuldades de acolhimento e de integração desta população, conduziram a Rede Social do concelho de Vagos a reconhecer a necessidade da existência de um projeto específico para colmatar estas dificuldades, agravadas pela pandemia Covid-19. Assim, em fevereiro de 2022, iniciou-se o projeto “Envolver”, cujo principal objetivo consiste em aumentar o bem-estar social da população migrante oriunda da Venezuela. A medição do bem-estar social é realizada através da aplicação da Escala do Bem-Estar Social (Keyes, 1998; adaptada por Silva, 2016) no início e no final do projeto Envolver.

Between 1945 and 1977 there was a strong emigration of portuguese to Venezuela. However, due to the economic, political and social instability felt in that country, these people and their descendants are returning to Portugal. Between 2011 and 2021, the municipality of Vagos recorded a high flow of Venezuelan, Portuguese-Venezuelan and their familie. This high flow and the difficulties in welcoming and integrating this population, led the Social Network of the municipality of Vagos to recognize the need for a specific project to overcome these difficulties, aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, in February 2022, the project Envolver began, with the main goal of increasing the social well-being of the migrant population from Venezuela. The measurement of social well-being is carried out through the application of the Social Well-Being Scale (Keyes, 1998; adapted by Silva, 2016) at the beginning and end of the project Envolver.
