Panamá e Messina : duas condecorações estrangeiras concedidas a portugueses

Abstract

Artigo de falerística internacional, mais concretamente sobre duas medalhas: uma do Panamá e outra italiana, criadas há 90 e 100 anos, respectivamente, para comemorarem o fim das hostilidades da Grande Guerra e as operações de socorro internacional após o terrível terramoto de Messina. Mais do que dar a conhecer as circunstâncias envolventes e os espécimes medalhísticos em si, procura-se divulgar a sua ligação a Portugal e aos cidadãos e às instituições portuguesas, que foram agraciadas com as mesmas. Complementa-se o artigo com imagens das medalhas (anverso e reverso) e diplomas de concessão, assim como com outra documentação, como sejam fotografias antigas.

International phaleristic article, more precisely about two medals: one from Panama and another Italian, created 90 and 100 years ago, remembering the end of Great War and the help and relief international operations after Messina earthquake, respectively. More than to give notice of both situations and the medals itself, we try to expand the subject to its connection to Portuguese citizens and institutions, which were decorated with it. In complement, we show the referred medals (obverse and reverse), concessions diplomas, as others kind of documentation like old photos.
