As imagens da cidade : as perspectivas dos cientistas sociais

Abstract

Este artigo busca discutir o uso das imagens nas Ciências Humanas, mais especificamente na construção do conhecimento sobre a Cidade. A intenção é elaborar uma visão panorâmica dos vários modelos de cidade ao longo da reflexão urbanística do século XX nas Ciências Sociais e Humanas, incluindo a Sociologia, a Antropologia e a História.

This article attempts to discuss the usage of images in the Social Sciences, more specifically in the construction of knowledge about the City. The intention is to elaborate a panoramic view of the several models of the City along the urbanistic thought of the twenty century in the Social and Human Sciences, including the Sociology, Anthropology and History.
