Nativos digitais : a influência das novas tecnologias no desenvolvimento moral infanto-juvenil

Abstract

A revolução tecnológica e digital e a massificação do uso da Internet estão provocando intensas modificações em diferentes âmbitos da sociedade e tem contribuído para ampliar, diversificar e fragmentar a complexidade das relações sociais. Este artigo tem como objetivo trazer alguns conceitos e fazer uma breve apresentação sobre o desenvolvimento moral infantil ante o fenômeno dos Nativos Digitais. Escolhemos essa temática por entendermos que o surgimento das Novas Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (NTICs) revolucionou o universo sociocultural e propiciou o surgimento de um novo paradigma. Um dos fenômenos que surgiram graças a esse contexto ficou conhecido como «Nativos Digitais», termo que designa todos aqueles que nasceram no mundo online e são «falantes nativos» da linguagem digital. Discute-se que a geração atual de crianças sofreu uma mudança tão drástica em relação às gerações anteriores que vários estudos tem se destinado a tentar entender o fenômeno, as implicações e consequências do fosso digital existente entre as crianças, os seus familiares e seus professores Esse novo paradigma cultural influenciaria constantemente a formação e o desenvolvimento moral, psicológico e cognitivo do homem. Parece-nos, portanto, que é o momento de identificar as perguntas e os principais problemas que a realidade complexa propõe ou suscita. Do campo da psicologia do desenvolvimento, mais pontualmente a partir das teorias que discorrem sobre o Desenvolvimento Moral, tivemos o ímpeto de refletir e ponderar os significados e as repercussões desse fenômeno digital na evolução da moralidade infantil.

The digital technological revolution and the massification of the use of the Internet are bringing about intense changes in different spheres of society. On this sense this article intends to bring some concepts and make a brief presentation of the influence of the phenomenon of digital natives on the moral development of children. This issue was chosen because we understand that the emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has revolutionized the sociocultural universe and foster the emergence of a new paradigm. One of the phenomena that emerged thanks to this context became known as “digital natives”. This terminology designates all those who were born in the online world and are “native speakers” of the digital language. It is argued that the current generation of children has undergone such a drastic change in relation to the previous generations that several studies have been aimed at trying to understand the phenomenon, the implications and consequences of the digital gap between children and their families. This new cultural paradigm would constantly influence the formation and moral, psychological and cognitive development of man. It seems to us that it is the moment to identify a few questions and problems that the complex reality proposes or raises to us. From the field of Developmental Psychology, more punctually from the theories that discuss Moral Development, we had the impetus to reflect the meanings and the repercussions of this digital and technological phenomenon on the evolution of children’s morality.
