Paisagem humanizada : reflexão e crítica sobre estratégias de intervenção

Abstract

A presente dissertação propõe-se reflectir sobre a relação do Homem com a paisagem, assumindo que o actual período de mudança de comportamento social da sociedade deve ser direccionado, de modo a ser adoptada uma nova atitude ética. Pretende-se equacionar os conceitos e as invariantes que estiveram presentes nas diversas épocas históricas, as motivações e enquadramento das intervenções na paisagem, bem como analisar o modo formal como as mesmas se foram manifestando no território. O estudo incidiu na industrialização, tendo enfatizado as consequências o período pós Revolução Industrial. Uma vez que o impacto do Homem na paisagem até ao séc. XVIII resumiu-se a intervenções mais circunscritas e pontuais, tendo a partir daí alastrando-se e aumentado de escala com o desenvolvimento tecno-científico despoletado pela industrialização. Ao se analisarem as consequências que foram surgindo no território, verificou-se que além do impacto local na paisagem, abrangeram uma escala mundial, repercutindo-se em nefastas influências no meio ambiente. Assim sendo, um dos objectivos foi enfatizar as rápïdas e profundas mudanças de conjuntura registadas em "apenas" três séculos, que romperam com a relativa evolução endémica existente anteriormente. Surge a necessidade de uma nova postura ética em relação à paisagem, assim como ao ambiente e à própria Natureza. Os casos de estudo analisados foram seleccionados devido à adequação em relação ao lugar e à procura de novas relações com o território que o valorizassem. A questão é reconsiderar até que ponto as sociedades estão comprometidas em mudar de atitude, sendo o arquitecto um profissional de síntese que pode ajudar a resolver estes problemas, representando um papel importante, desde que enquadrado em equipas pluridisciplinares.

The present thesis proposes to reflect about the relation between Man and Landscape, assuming that the period of social behavior change should be directed in a way that a new ethical attitude should be adopted. It is intended to equate te concepts and the invariants that were present in the different historical periods, te motivations and te interventionsâ?? framing in landscape, as well as analyze the formal way that they have been expressing in the territory. The study did not pursue with the same intensity in all periods of history, being emphasized te period after the Industrial Revolution, since the human impact in the landscape, until the 18th century, was resumed to circumscribed and punctual interventions and from there spreading out of scale and increased with the technical-scientific development triggered by industrialization. In analyzing the consequences that were appearing in the territory, it was found that, besides the local impact on landscape, they covered a global scale and terefore having a negative influence on the environment. Thus, one of the objectives was to emphasize the fast and profound changes of the circurnstances registered in "only" three centuries that broke wit te developments on previously existing endemic, resulting in the need for a new ethical posture in relationship to te landscape, as well as the environment and nature itself. The case studies analyzed were selected because of the adaptation for the place and the search for new relations with the territory that would value it. The question is to reconsider the extent to which society is committed to change their minds, being the architect a professional of summary that may help to solve these problems, representing an important role, since organized into multidisciplinary teams.
