Reabilitação de fragmentos industriais através da mutabilidade : resposta a um mundo em constante alteração

Abstract

A presente dissertação visa o estudo dos Fragmentos Industriais, um fenó¬meno emergente na cidade contemporânea. Tornou-se necessário compreender este conceito, através da sua génese e sua importância a nível arquitectónico, histórico, cultural (património industrial) e social (memória colectiva), para tal, re¬corremos ao estudo de autores como, Maurice Halbwachs, Françoise Choay e Deolinda Folgado. Entendendo o seu impacto, torna-se urgente reabilitar estas estruturas pós¬-industriais. Exploramos o conceito de mutabilidade como instrumento de reabili¬tação de modo a tentar garantir a sua reversibilidade e adaptação a diferentes usos, inesperados e não programados, tendo sido François Ascher, Aldo Rossi e An¬drea Branzi autores essenciais para este entendimento. Esta forma de reabilitar tem como finalidade, permitir a constante actualização destas estruturas, procurando fazer face às incessantes transformações do mundo e da sociedade. Esta investigação culminou na aplicação e desenvolvimento do ensaio projectual, baseado nos projectos, Red Bull Music Academy by Langarita Navarro Arquitectos e Z-Gallery by O-office Architects, incidindo num fragmento industrial presente em Amarante, o Complexo Tabopan, procurando integra-lo de novo na cidade, respondendo às necessidades da sociedade contemporânea.

Abstract: This thesis aims to study the Industrial Fragments, an emerging phenome¬non in the contemporary city. It has become necessary to understand this concept through its genesis and its architectural, historical, cultural (industrial heritage) and social (collective memory) importance, for that, we turn to the study of authors such as Maurice Halbwachs, Françoise Choay and Deolinda Folgado. Understanding its impact, it is urgent to rehabilitate these post-industrial struc¬tures. Explored the concept of mutability as a rehabilitation tool in order to try to ensure their reversibility and adapt to different uses, unexpected and unplanned, having been François Ascher, Aldo Rossi and Andrea Branzi authors essential to this understanding. This concept aims at the constant updating of the structures rehabilitated this way by addressing the incessant transformations of the world and society. This investigation resulted in the application and development of project¬-test, based on projects, Red Bull Music Academy by Langarita Navarro Architects and Z-Gallery by O-office Architects focusing in an industrial fragment in Amarante, the Tabopan Complex, looking to reintegrate it in the city, responding to the needs of the contemporary society.
